The Second Engine philosophy proposes something different: build a second independent system that operates quietly, generates steady returns, and is structurally uncorrelated with the primary engine. For an executive whose primary income comes from their company, daily SPX Iron Condors become the second engine. For a trader whose primary income already comes from options, a passive index position or rental income becomes the second engine.
